Plot The story is about love, hate and lies. It is a tale of a common man who is metamorphosed into a king. Bajirao was born in a common man's house, and rose to be an emperor in the Maratha Empire. At the start of the film, Bajirao was cruel to his first wife, Shobha, and made her drink poison. Shobha ends up giving birth to Bajirao's son (Nana), who was adopted by a local Khonvak Maratha princess. However, after Shobha's death, Bajirao soon falls in love with Shobha's sister, Shri Krishnaveni (Deeksha). Bajirao eventually marries Shri Krishnaveni and hates the Khonvaks in the kingdom. This makes him excommunicate his own son, who has been adopted by a Khonvak as well. His loyal servant Shankar Mal tells him that the adopted child is his real son and gives him a gift of a lump of pearl. The child is later revealed to be Maratha.
